From the Group Chat

A collection of collages I made from screenshots of instagram posts of screenshots of tweets that my friends send in our Instagram group chat. An intersection between digital and analog, these collages use printed ephemera but are arranged digitally.

Two Birds

This zine is a story told in three parts through the use of cyanotype paper, inspired by the song of the same name by Regina Spektor. The song describes two birds, where one wants to leave the comfort of the wire, but the other doesn't. The cyanotypes show the passage of time by changing the position of one bird, but leaving the other alone on the page.

Each frame had its own "negative" produced and was exposed and developed individually.

Vignette

My resolution for 2024 was to print more of my photos, and "Vignette" was born. Vignette is a photozine comprised of landscape photos taken on my travels from 2020-2024. It contains seven photos along with some prose about what I remember about that trip. Inspired by the name, I die-cut the cover to simulate a slide of film and used vellum to give a subtle peek into the contents.

Late Summer in Maine
‍‍
A zine containing mostly digital drawings documenting my time in Maine in August of 2024. For the drawings, I wanted to stick to a palette of soft blues, greens, and purples with a warm accent color (sometimes red, sometimes yellow). The rest of the pages consist of a poem, collage, linocut stamp, and a compilation of things I recommend to do in Portland, Acadia, and Bar Harbor.

I Touched Grass
‍‍
How do you romanticize a hot Texas summer? You unknowingly create a habitat for butterflies to grow up and write and make art about it.
